Global Mission
As a part of Kiwanis International, we are an organization that is made up of over 550,000 volunteers serving kids in every corner of the globe through local clubs like ours. Kiwanis clubs can be found in 80 countries and geographic areas, fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.
Local Focus
The spirit that animates Kiwanis’s efforts around the world is the same one that drives our club to bring a positive impact in the lives of kids here in Plainfield. We strive to help in a variety of ways, be it service projects at local schools, scholarships for high school students preparing for college, fundraising through annual events, and more.
Clubs for Kids Too
Volunteering builds character not just for adults but especially for kids too. Kiwanis recognizes this and provides opportunities for students to give back through student-led clubs at the secondary, high school, and college level. We currently support three Key Clubs at Plainfield high schools.
Active Membership
Ours is an active club, meaning our members are actively involved in the projects that we undertake during the year. Our members come from all walks of life which makes for a rich and engaging environment that promotes creative ideas for serving our community.
Making a Difference
Since 1993, our club has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for kids in our community. These funds have helped offset college tuition, paid for Christmas presents for families in need, developed an outdoor learning center for a local school, and directly supported other organizations who deliver specialized services to children.
